About Me

Hello! I'm Ramona, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in mental health and social services. I specialize in helping people overcome challenges such as anxiety, imposter syndrome, body image distress, and disordered eating.

As a therapist and a first-generation daughter of immigrants. My personal journey has led me to unlearn the need for perfection and embrace self-worth, including my relationship with food and body image. You may feel like you don't belong anywhere or that no matter how hard you try, it still doesn't cut it. I’ve been there. Every day feels like a grind to just survive. What if I told you, it doesn't have to be this way.

I believe that everyone deserves to feel safe and accepted. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I will work with you to create a safe and supportive environment where you can comfortably explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. You are the expert on your life, and I am here to support you on your journey. Through mind-body awareness, you will learn strategies to calm your inner critic, recognize your self-worth, and start living in alignment with your values. Your experience is valid, and you are enough.

It's time to put your well-being first! I'll help you get back in touch with your body, find peace with food, and start living a life that matches your values. Take the first step by scheduling a complimentary 15-minute Intro call or book a telehealth intake session today. I'm looking forward to connecting with you and supporting your journey toward a mindset of abundance and possibilities!

When I'm not working, I enjoy going to comedy shows, reading and traveling with my husband and dog, Chavo.

Therapy Approach

The most important thing is to click with your therapist, even more than the specific type of therapy they use. Through our work together, you will develop a deeper understanding of how you arrived at this point, and learn how to challenge your current beliefs and behaviors and replace them with new ones that better serve you.

I’m always learning new modalities and expanding my knowledge and practice of effective therapy. I use a mix of therapy approaches, like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I provide weight-inclusive care, prioritizing your overall well-being rather than solely focusing on weight. In our sessions, we'll work towards reconnecting with your body, challenging unhelpful narratives, and exploring gentle movement options. My aim is to cultivate a respectful, non-judgmental environment where all bodies are valued. Your care plan will be personalized to align with your unique needs, goals, and experiences, and will be rooted in the principles of Health at Every Size®.

  • “Transformation doesn’t happen in a linear way, at least not one we can always track. It happens in cycles, convergences, explosions. If we release the framework of failure, we can realize that we are in iterative cycles, and we can keep asking ourselves - how do I learn from this?”
